About Gina Mielko

Origins & Influences
I was born and raised in New York City, a self-taught artist shaped by the wisdom of local working painters. There’s a quiet magic in learning from those who create with their hands and hearts. My early mentors taught me to see beyond technique.
Evolution of Practice
In the early 1990s, I moved to Atlanta and began painting custom murals working with interior designers and their clients. By the mid-90s, my brush found its way from walls to canvas, where my art evolved and my themes expanded.
Representation & Reach
My work has been represented in galleries in Brazil. I’ve participated in vibrant local art events like Booze and Pancakes in Atlanta. Most of my collectors reside in Brazil and Central America with an ever growing presence in the United States.
Artistic Philosophy
My style leans toward Contemporary Surrealism and Neo-Expressionism. My focus is tapestry of human experience woven with longing, divinity, and desire. I explore the tension between the spiritual and the carnal, the sacred and the sensual. Each piece is a meditation, a whisper, a reckoning. My art is a journey into the depths of emotion and spirit, inviting viewers to explore their own inner landscapes. My work is a meditation on what remains after grief, after touch, after revelation.
